Welcome to Drafter

Welcome to Drafter, your 2D drawing platform. This workflow will describe the process of creating your first drawing. Lets dive in.

1. Download the Plugin

• Open the gdrive folder sent to you from Drafter and download the latest version of the NX<>Drafter Integration. Please ensure NX is closed before beginning the download process.
• Download the file named “Drafter Siemens NX Integration”, (currently only compatible with NX 2306 onward)
• Run the integration file to install the NX<>Drafter Integration
• When the Download is complete, you will be prompted to restart your computer

2. Sending File to Drafter

• Find and open a CAD file you’d like to begin drawing creation for

• Locate the Drafter tab on the top action bar of your screen “Drafter”, select Drafter Integration to open the plugin window

  • NOTE: If you do not see the “Drafter” tab, go to Modeling mode by pressing “Home” or clicking into the background of your NX instance and pressing the hotkey “M”

  

• Open the Drafter Integration

  • If this button is greyed out, you have the application open elsewhere, probably minimized

• Login if prompted - This will open a browser window to authenticate

• Click “Send to Drafter.”

• This sends the Active geometry to the Drafter workflow

  • NOTE: Drafter currently only ingests Single body uploads at this time

  

• You should be redirected to the Drafter website with your part as the open window.

  • If this process takes more than 1 minute, your part may still be uploading and can be accessed from the Drafter homepage. (https://app.drafterinc.com/)
  • Even on long processing, you will be redirected to the Drafter dashboard after ~1 minute

3. Homepage

• This is your dashboard of uploaded parts for your entire organization
