Updating Your Drawing Template Size in Drafter
Drafter gives you flexibility to control sheet size at multiple points in your workflow. You can set a default template, choose a template before creating a drawing, or change the sheet size after a drawing has already been generated.
Overview
Template size controls which sheet format your drawing is created on (for example, ANSI B). You can update this:
- By setting a default template for all future drawings
- By selecting a template right before creating a drawing
- By changing the sheet size after a drawing is already created
Set or Update Your Default Drawing Template
To set the template that will be used automatically for new drawings:
- Open the Settings Menu
- Click your name / profile in the top navigation
- Select Drawing Templates
- You’ll see three options: Company Profile, Libraries, and Drawing Templates
- Choose or edit your default template
- Select which template all new drawings will use by default
- You can also edit existing templates or create multiple templates for flexibility
Create a New Default Sheet Size
To create a new template:
-
Go to Settings → Drawing Templates

-
Click Create Drawing Template

-
Enter template details:
- Name the template (Example: Test)
- Select a sheet size (Example: ANSI B)
-
(Optional) Check Set as Default
-
Click Create
Your new template will now be available, and if selected as default, all future drawings will use it automatically.
